Yesterday as i was busy with work i had afew minute to chill myself after almost 6 hours trying to complete afew drawings. As i was checking my Facebook, suddenly i have a flash back memories of my school days. God i miss those days. During class i wasnt doing as good as my sports..
Then all the sudden i cant stop thinking about one of my best friend *regardless we're not as closed as before but she stil my friend*..Ive met her when i was in SMK Dato' Dato Ahmad Razali. I was in form 2. We're not in the same class but we started of became rivals because that time we took part in some English competitions.. That time the both of us are top student in our class and we always score flying colours for English papers. During the competition, i wasnt doing so good because i stuttered like crazy. I was scared to death and that was my first time joining that competitions.But actuall there another reason for it.......
One day as i was sitting at the canteen during lunch break and she joined me and bunch of my friends for lunch. She was closed with one of my bestfrend as well. As we were talking, i sensed some 'arrogant' behavior from her end. Because she asking questions in English but i replied her in malay. I know im capable of answering her in English.. Then all the sudden she ask me why i didnt replied her in English, as soon as i open my mouth, her jaw completely drop. I explains to her why i refused to speak in english. Its because i was embarrassed. Why? coz of my british accent. I used to stay in London, UK for almost 4 years because my parents was doing their Masters there. So for 4 years i attended North Primary School there and i guess i was influenced by their accent.
Since i explain to her why i didnt enjoy talking in English, she smiled and started calling me "Minah British Celop".. cam hareeeemss!!!... There are afew times during class my teacher asked me to talk in English because she enjoys listening to my British accent, but then i refused..
Til this day, i much prefer talking in English compared to malay. Sampai ade orang salah anggap yang aku ni minah poyo. hahaha.. =) say whatever you want... Whenever im facing a serious conversation or any confrontation, i will stick to English. Bile me and Ah Gee had a slight arguement, i will speak in English. There are times when i talked to fast in English, we will asked me to talk to him in Malay.
Here's the thing about me talking in malay whenever im in a serious conversation. I took the time to think what im gonna say in english then i converted them in malay and i took almost 2-5 mins just to reconstructed them so that it didnt turn out funny and misleading. Yep. Thats was im facing now. But normal conversation i can still talk in malay, but when it comes to serious matter, English is my preferred language.
I remembered one time when i was on the fon with this one girl, i talked to her in English, she seems like she doesnt understand what im trying to say.Then she stated that i was acting all poyo just because i talked to her in english and she start saying that she doesnt understand a single thing i said claiming that shes 'orang kampung'.. Girl please!!!!
Hahahahahah.......Seriously? Why you have to downgrade urself that way la?
Kenapa perlu merendahkan diri ko yang sememangnye dah rendah tu? Yes its good to be humble and down to earth but not to that extend until people wont take you seriously.
Afew months later, she makes another salacious comments about me again. She said "biase la orang kampung, tak sepandai orang bandar"..hahaha... You know what girl....
