Salam Ramadhan to all. I know its abit late but better late than never right?
This year is me and my Husbands' second time celebrating Ramadhan together. Alhamdulillah its a blessing me and my Husband get to celebrate it together with our family.
But this year would be the first time for me and my Husband celebrating Ramadhan with our little guy.It has been 2 days now and i routine definitely changes alot. Before this my mom was the one who prepared the food for Sahur. But this year since having Baby D, Im the one who prepared everything. Usually by 9.30pm i will dozed off after putting Baby D's to sleep. Then around 11pm and 1am I will wake up and feed him and putting him back to sleep. Right after that i will do around 10 minutes of pumping my breast milk to make sure that its completely empty. Then around 3am or 3.30am he will wake up again. The routine repeats itself but right after i pump i will run down the Kitchen and cook for Sahur.
My first day of puasa for this year was challenging for me. Being a semi breastfeed mommies does take its toll on my body as i would constantly feeling hungry and thirsty.I was fully prepared actually. Ive been reading alot and i figured maybe it would be helpful if i ate food that will sustained me throughout the day. So the first day of sahur i make an overnight Oats which consists of Oats, Goji Berry, Raisin, Multi Grain Vsoy Milk, Bananas and Hot cup of Milo. I try to avoid pumping or direct feeding Baby D as many mothers mentioned that it will make us to feel hungry very quickly.
My milk supply doesn't effect much during my first day of Ramadan but i tend to feel light headed and my hands starts to shiver. My guess is because that i was pumping 3 times during the day without refueling my body with plain water and food.
My Husband told me if i cant take it then I can break fast. But i was pretty insisted to continue to fast. The minute i reached home, i was about pass out. As my mom was cooking Mee Curry for break fast. Then my mother in law and my brothers are coming to stay at my place until Saturday. So ive decide to make Baked Bread Lasagna.
Well thats the story of my first day of fasting. Have a great Ramadhan everyone =)
